Haywire

Haywire

Formed three decades ago in Charlottetown PEI, the rock band has gone on to sell more than half a million records, spawned a dozen hit songs, won international awards and played with some of the biggest names in Canadian music.

It all culminated for band members Paul MacAusland, David Rashed, Marvin Birt, Ron Switzer and Sean Kilbride in 2006 when Haywire received the Music P.E.I. Lifetime Achievement Award and again in April 2011 when the band was honoured by the East Coast Music Awards in Charlottetown with the Dr. Helen Creighton Lifetime Achievement Award.

Andre Pettipas & The Giants

Andre Pettipas & The Giants

Andre Pettipas and The Giants are a three piece rock outfit based out of Antigonish County, Nova Scotia. Brothers, Andre and Travis have been playing together in bands for roughly six years. Completing the trifecta is drummer, Marcus Cosh who has been in their local music scene for roughly ten years. Andre Pettipas and the Giants’ debut album, Stay Gold, a project which; more than anything; speaks to versatility.

Over the course of eight songs the audience is treated to a range of styles from the folk rock opener “Answers”, to the 90s alt rock inspired “Tragic Hero”, to the catchy pop hooks of current single “Long Way from Home”, to the bluesy punk mash up that closes out the record, “Common Ground”. There really is something for everyone. This harmony driven trio is a high energy band that is a treat to see live; hair flying, crowd engagement and leaving it on all on the stage is their forte.

Grooveback

Grooveback

Grooveback is a group of close friends, raised in rural mainland Nova Scotia, who share a love for music as strong as an Atlantic winter.

For many years the weekends consisted of open jams, close friends, and great times. Once realizing their natural connection and ability to create, the boys decided to mold their methods and focus on writing material which shares their personal experiences in life and music with those who will listen.
